Hawk is my spirit animal and has been my protector throughout my life. In Native American beliefs they are messengers and guardians. Hawk appears to me almost daily, but every time I try to capture their beauty in a photograph, they are either elusive, too far away, or perched on a telephone wire. Today I was thinking about my upcoming trip out west with Dana and the spiritual journey we have both been traveling together. As I pulled into the driveway and climbed out of my car, a beautiful hawk landed in the tree in front of me. I watched her for several minutes, then decide to go inside to get my camera, expecting her to be gone when I returned. To my surprise, she was still there. She stayed for awhile, left me with a message and allowed me to take these beautiful photos of her. I am humbled, blessed and grateful for her presence in my life.
