Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, established in 1872, is our nation’s first national park. Primarily located in Wyoming, extending into parts of Montana and Idaho, and spanning 3,500 miles, makes this the largest park in the United States. This vast area sits on top of a dormant volcano and contains half the world’s hydrothermal features. It is also home to the largest herd of buffalo, wolves and grizzly bears.
